Hi Folks,
When I shoot weddings I normally have an assistant who is using their own cameras. I tend to synch up our cameras before we start so they are both on the same time to the minute and second. When I download the files, mine are called IMG.... and my assistants are called DSC.... or OLY.... What I want to do is have them show up in time order so I can rename them regardless of which camera they came out of. Is there a way to do this in Photoshop CS4 Bridge or Adobe Lightroom 2.6 version. I can sort them by date by not by time in Windows Vista which is annoying unless Time Taken is called something else. Can anyone advise the easiest way for me to get the photos to show up in time order using any of the software mentioned? Ta muchly |

By the way, I know how to change the time on images in Lightroom just not how to get them to show up in Time Taken order.

There is a free download available called "Bulk Rename Utility" that allows you to sort by "Created" which should give you a list in time and date order that you can then rename.
Go to http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Download.php to download. |

I have never used the Nikon format, but I think the extension is unimportant. The Help file states "All of these changes automatically ignore the filename extension, as it's usually dangerous to change the extension for a file. However, you can change the extension case to a fixed extension, or add a "secondary" extension, and you can also remove an extension. You can choose to ignore extensions within folder names - e.g. treat Program.Files as a normal filename - but not filenames."
