Wow!
Well, whoever does buy one should stay well away from airports, or they might find themselves rapidly surrounded by armed men in camouflage gear instructing you to "Put the rocket launcher down, and no sudden moves or we open fire". Free food and accommodation in a tropical island resort courtesy of the US government? I would have thought that the best way to transport some of these long lenses is to use one a wheely trolley like the one favoured by old people. I wonder if anyone makes a suitable carrier?

About a third of the length in those pictures is actually the lens hood, so it's not quite as huge as it first appears. It looks about right for a 500mm F2.8
