First DSLR, What Should I Go For?
Hi.
Ok so i want to buy an DSLR, I have only ever used a compact digital camara. Now i want to try something better and get more from the pictures. I was at a party this week and used a few peoples camaras and all the pics didnt come out to well IMO, So want to try the DSLR route. I am looking at something 2nd hand to start with and looking at the £180 mark. Would need to come with body and lense really to get me started worry free. Would be used to take some pictures of motorbikes on track also, But only now and then. SO what can people recommend to me. Thanks in advance Luke |

Any of the main makes would be fine. You really need to handle a few to get a feel of what you like. Be aware that to get the best out of a DSLR there is a learning curve so learn about the technical stuff like effect of shutter speed, aperture settings and a host of other bits and pieces or all you will have is a glorified P&S which is bulky and heavy.

Well. I have doubled my budget lol. So i went to Jessops and had a look around and asked some question. I was looking at the Canon 1000D it was out of my price range but for some reason i liked the camara, The look and feel. So went i got home i found a Canon 1000D for sale i bought it. Ok its double my price range, But i wanted something i would be happy with and what would last my many years. I had a good look thought reviews of the 1000D and its rivals to. So just awaiting it to be delivered.
I have a newbie to all this and dont understand much if anything about DSLR's just been reading up and watching videos. If i can i wouldnt mind going to a night school for photography just for fun really. My many interested is getting pictures of motorbikes on the track. So i am going to upgrade to a better lens at a later date to get closer to the action. Luke |

Just remember one thing and one thing only and I am sure you have heard this before, it is the photographer and NOT the camera that captures the image.
Enjoy your new play toy! |
