Default Safari 4

Apple have just released a public beta version if Safari 4.

The new version brings the browser right upto date with cover view and a top sites feature. Windows version now renders true windows fonts correctly.

How cool is that!

Its also much quicker than the already quick Safari 3.

Try 'Safari 4 Buddy' I have used it to put the tabs in the application instead of above.

Notice the 'Top Sites' changes dynamically and updates the thumbnail. I.E. The BBC website usually shows the current page as the thumbnail.

Cool - its ice cold!

It also supports the latest css such as gradients and curved corners which is nice if you are programming for the future! It looks really nice, typical of Apple

Hi. How does Safari compare to Firefox? Since the last couple of updates Firefox has, to me, become rather ponderous.

Regards Phil

I found Safari gives a cluttered screen and is not inuitative for bookmarking. Agree with Phil that Firefox is a bit slow. Opera is by far the quickest on my computer.

I solved problem of ponderous Firefox. I was using a plugin that made all phone numbers shown on web pages and in e mails directly accessible to Skype. I remove plugin and Firefox back to its usual self.
