Default POTW 7th September 2014

My choice for Picture of the Week 7th September is Wednesday Workout by Tom Charles.

With some exceptional images getting an airing this week, any one of which would be worthy nominations, it is difficult to select just one. For me, this one has a 'wow' factor. It certainly has all the technical perfection of sharpness and detail, but the background and the overall presentation tending to high-key set it apart from the pack. The subject matter helps of course catching an unusual and specific 'moment'.

I had a shortlist of four, two of which were from Robski; his Gold, a gloriously detailed goldfinch and also Hawker, a migrant hawker dragonfly captured in flight. Then Nigel G's Kimmeridge Bay a beautifully presented long exposure seascape. So congratulations to those members also.
