Default The phenomenon of "LiveCams"

I guess one of the very exciting part of photo/videography in our era is the phenomenon of Live Stream and Live Cameras that not only are popping up on every corner we knew, now are showing the views we really had no access to, before.
Recently encountered this very interesting Live Camera from our village, place on a very secret location (Absolutely No public access for the sake of animals) of a "Baldeagle's nest" with chicks being hatched successfully and showing an amazing growth. In addition to nursing mother and growing chicks, its really interesting to see how they do their day to day affair. Then other things in their neighborhood, for eg last late night's howling coyotes and other neighbors, that birds didn't care even to acknowledge their presence.
Have a look and I am sure you will enjoy.

There was a storm last night, mostly snowing and very cold. Again Mother Bald Eagle did that mother thingy to keep eaglets safe and warm.
They all look good right now but the forecast is for two more storms... Keeping the fingers crossed:

Good and sad news.
The good news was all that we have witnessed so far and joy of seeing both eaglets growing up:

(All credits goes to P&D Sharpe, YT channel and Friends of Big Bear Valley. LINK
First Egg Laid on 1/3/18. Chick hatched 2/11/18.
Second Egg Laid on 1/6/18. Chick hatched 2/12/18.
Chicks were named Stormy and Baby Big Bear.

But here is that sad news that I was very worry about, since rain and cold storm of Friday:

3/23/18: One of chicks (Baby Big Bear) died overnight, most likely of hypothermia resulting from soaking rains followed by near freezing temperatures.

I was on a trip and didn't see the parent eagles reaction since but such is life...

This is the footage of the sad wet cold morning day following the rain that caused the life of one eaglet, BBB or Baby Big Bear... Footage is copyrighted to "LadyHawk" who receives all the credits. If you look at the video clip and like it, please mark a thumbs up and subscribe to that channel.

And this is a little later when the surviving baby is getting back some energy, by the warming first ray of sun, in early AM, to deal with the weather and show her (Probably!) desire to survive and grow. Clip is published & copy righted to "Lady Hawk" under the title "Stormy Standing Tall" in YouTube.
Please join me to pray and wish a good future for this one (Stormy) and again, if you liked the clip, please don't forget to mark a thumbs up and thanks for watching.

Don't forget this is only the tip of iceberg of difficulties in growing and milestones and by no means over yet, as the first 3 years in the life of eagle are all very critical.

Please forgive me if thought this is thread, under "Equipment review" I don't have a definite precise way to review the camera used in this very exciting live footage, it seems that the trend is catching up and we should witness some extremely exciting moments, that has never been recorded or seen! All I know about the equipment here, the camera has good pixel resolution and its is powered by solar cells that feed the local battery and can survive in cold, throughout the night, when camera switches to IR / B&W and night mode. Camera has a microphone so you do hear the event as unfold but don't worry, there is no speaker there to bother the eagle or eaglets and camera is silent, almost invisible to them.

Then there was another very interesting story unfolded in Australia (May be Trena knows more about it) that again was another miracle only to be seen in our age, with this much detail and documentation. Thanks to the great equipment we have in our age but more importantly Women and Men who use the equipment at best to capture things, never done before.

LINK to "Hawk raised by Eagles - The complete Story", published by "SassePhoto" in YT.

Please share more footage in this line of "Live Cameras" if you are aware of any other exciting one, for the interest of all.

After the unfortunate death of one chick (Baby Big Bear eagle), now in the short elapsed few days, the other eaglet has grown tremendously (Keeping the fingers crossed) and for the first time I saw him taking his own food, from the multiple fishes mom and dad left for him in the nest. He looks almost fully fledged and eagle look like! Can stand on his own and stretches the wings often, as if knows what should come soon. Isn't it amazing how time changes the living beings and do its miracles?

The surviving eaglet baby, Stormy is growing so fast. Today, it was cloudy, cold and above all very windy. He was seriously testing his wings in the wind tunnel! and I have a sad feeling that this nest is going to be empty very soon...
You can clearly see Stormy in this image including his tag on the foot and both the parent bald eagles are seating on the corner branches, in the right upper frame, one only be seen minimally by the tail.
This story is getting towards the closing chapter

Thanks and all credits to footage goes to "Friends of Big Bear Valley" for providing nest live view camera.

Breaking News!

It happened.
Today early morning as first golden rays of sun showed up, Stormy (The baby eagle) sat by the corner of nest. He was trying out his wings for a while and most aggressively in past day or so. As incoming light was the cause of partial camera blinding, Stormy disappeared into sun... Tonight the nest is empty but he was observed being feed by parents, a few meter below the nest on the same tree.
One of the friends has made a wonderful slide show of entire event, till this date and here is a link to that, if you are interested to have a look. I do encourage all to have a peek and promise you shall like, what you see:

Tomorrow will be another day!
