Default Auto Complete

I notice that since I re-installed my software, text no longer autocompletes (if I typed "C" in "Equipment Used" Canon 20d would fill in automatically). Is this a setting specific to a site like WPF or is something that I need to set in my computer? It was a handy feature and i'd like to get it back.

I hate autocomplete, it really annoys me, it's typical Microsoft programming that think's it knows better than you what you want!

I like it only because I don't have to type the camera information etc every time I post a picture on a forum.

Hi Dan. I believe if you click on "Tools" - "internet options" and I think the advanced tab, you should be able to tick it to autocomplete. Just scroll down the list of options.

Dan, as well as ensuring that the feature is enabled, you need to be aware that the 'autocomplete' list operates from entries previously typed by you.

You don’t mention which software you loaded, however when you re-loaded your software you may have effectively deleted this list and so are now starting from scratch.
As you now type entries in to text boxes (e.g. Google or site search boxes), the list will be gradually reconstructed and the feature will return to its previous state.

Cheers.

(having said that, I’m with nirofo and think autocomplete is a pita)

Can the auto-complete list be edited? I have a typo appearing on my list and is very annoying

Stephen,

Have a read of this......Help center

It seems to suggest just highlighting the error when it appears in the list and hitting delete.

Sorry, can't test it myself as I use neither autocomplete or IE.

Cheers,
