Default convert raw to tiff for editing

I shoot in Raw most of the time and open them in Camera raw, tweek them a little then finish them off in cs3 and safe to jpeg.

I have read in a few places that people covert there raw files to tiff files for editing. How is this done and at what stage.

Thanks in advance.

John

You cant "convert" a RAW to a tiff as such - just do what you do now but instead of saving to jpg - save as tiff - thats it The advantage is that there is no compression in a tiff file so no quality is lost. Same goes for saving as a psd ... which is what I use but I dont know theres a lot of different in tiff or psd
