Well i have the 70-300 version of the same and its excellent up to around 200. Past that it gets a little fringy. I would expect yours to be the same at 350-400mm. I am most impressed though, very good value for money for what it is and well made.

Thanks for the info, I am torn between this and the canon 100-400mm, alot dearer I know, but then you get what you pay for.

Ill be honest, my choice was challenged by my budget and i would have bought the Nikon equivelent with vibration reduction but my choice has a macro switch over which i like and works quite well. I would say if you have the money the canon looks the better buy and you know the quality will be better but i dont want to take anything away from the Sigma, its a fine lens.

I have just purchased this lens and await delivery - since the last post in here, has anyone bought/used/tried this out? I have high hopes and look forward to a lot more wildlife photography.
