I can't think of a single reason why I would want a blurred photograph, I strive endlessly to make my photo's as sharp as my equipment will allow! That's not to say I don't take blurred photo's though, I take many by accident, they all end up in the bin, I don't try to fob em off as arty farty well thought out masterpieces.

The article is about BACKGROUND blur. You can't think of a single reason why that might be desireable??
