Super Ultra Tele-Camera from Nikon
Well Nikon did it again and here is one amazing super-duper extreme zoom, tele lens camera made by Nikon, under same legendary, giant "P" line:
Nikon P1000 Compare to preceding P900, this new baby does 4K video and has many more positive features but one bad news, battery life is decreased from up to 360 shots on a single battery charge, to 250, despite using a newer battery. But good news is that a full charging time of battery is only 3 hours. This camera comes with a built in non-interchangeable NIKKOR 24-3000mm Lens (35mm Equivalent). Yes you heard it right a 125x Optical Zoom & a 3000 mm super tele lens and even if this was not enough, there is a (Cheating) optical 2x zoom to make this into a 6000mm lens (Not to forget, at impressive F stop of 8). The variable aperture Range is f/2.8-8, that at both end is a very fast lens for the given focal length. There is a 16MP BSI CMOS Sensor at the heart of it, capable of capturing RAW (NRW). Good news for videographers, they can enjoy 4K Ultra HD video, at 30 or 25 fps with HDMI out, stereo sound and an accessory hot-shoe but best of all and something that you don’t get at many other similar cameras, even much higher priced DSLRs is a Microphone input socket (an external microphone via a 3.5mm connector), so you don’t have to be limited by the so so, built in mic when you already have high quality mics in your gadget. Nikon claims to have built a Rock-steady Dual Detect image stabilization that should provide clear and sharp image even at low-light situations. Camera has impressive 125x Optical Zoom thus at higher end of tele, that Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction should come handy. There is a time-lapse and Superlapse shooting plus great creative modes. Ther is built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and vari-angle (Not fully articulated) 3.2" LCD display in addition to a nice 2.3 million dot EVF that is said that have only minimal lag. The secret of camera that allows all these good thing to happen, is its small sensor size. So it might not be a right choice for a pro who relays more on a full frame or at least a cropped DSLR size sensor but for a general user or it should be a very good new. Even better is the price tag that in USA is going to be offered at under $1000 (But don't forget its about twice the price of P900 - the camera this one is replacing). The downside of this camera is obviously size and weight and if you thought you can keep it in your larger pocket, think again. But then to be fair and to compare apple with apple, it is suffice to compare this with even a bear lens of 1000mm focal length that has F8 aperture to see how light this thing is. I don’t own this camera and have not tested it personally but there is an excellent review of this camera on YouTube that is made by a good and unbiased Youtuber here and please check if you are interested in this camera or in general would like to get some idea about super tele lens camera. LINK If you used the Link above, please don’t forget to Thumbs up the clip and subscribe so he can make more similar videos for us. I am using a few screen shoots from his clips to show what this cameras lens can do in terms of “Optical reach”. Images courtasy of Clifton Cameras Channel.
