I find I get shadows where th the paper isnt taught!

Then make the paper taut and / or adjust the lighting so you don't have shadows.
Regardless of anything else you shouldn't have shadows on your background, unless of course you want them. If you do have shadows then you probably don't have the lighting set right. It may be a case of using a different modifier or adding another light. Or both. |
