Default Some research

I had to do some investigations and came across Photographersdirect, they also couldn't make it, and I wonder why?
Can anybody explain what they did exactly do and why they struggled?
Sadly i couldn't find as much on the Internet.
Best regards and thanks!

Photographersdirect was basically a stock photo library where you could upload images and would be contacted by people/companies who wished to use them. I believe the website was taken down a few years ago, as far as I know no official reason was given for this.

I think it was a privately owned business as so perhaps the owner decided to move on to other things or the business was no longer financially viable. I suspect that the exact reasons will not be known.
