Default How did you set up your blog/website?

Hello.

I have a question to photographers that have their own website or blog. I am looking for one too, where I can post my collection of photographs (one is landscapes and another is portraits but they are not finished yet). Where do you think is the best place for it? I've looked on the internet and found things like Blogger, WordPress and there are also hosting sites like 1&1 for example, but I have no idea which one to go for. I do have a limited knowledge of website design, so I would appreciate some help or at least a few suggestions. Thank you.

apart from the sites you have mentioned, also have a look at Flikr, Clikpic & Foliopic. I personally use Foliopic for my site http://micra-chameleon.foliopic.com/ which is easy to build and update

If you want your own website rather than a hosted gallery, there are loads of templates you can use. I set mine up using a zenphoto template, and the process wasnt too hard to master. You will need a host for the site, then upload the template to that site and run the set-up files. It should then just be a case of setting your preferences and uploading images and text.
Mine is here - www.northpeakphotography.co.uk It is still a work in progress - lots more writing to do for it, but galleries are growing nicely...
