POTW - w/e 3rd July 2016
Again, an encouragingly large number of contruibutions this week. I singled out five entries for further scrutiny; Tranquility by NigelG, Honey Bee by dbtaylor, Male Chaffinch by davet47, and Keswick & Derwentwater by AdeG. The fifth and this weeks choice is Refraction by Tugboat.
Tugboat is famous in our little world for still abstracts (as well as beautiful landscapes and seascapes) and her work is categorised by the precision and attention to detail that she always applies. This one simply 'works' for me, it's a design I would display on my wall and whilst I know that there has been some trickery to get the liquids to appear upside down in the glasses, the image is credible and makes me smile. Well done Trena. Thanks to all contributors. Graham

Good choice - immediately recognisable as a 'tugboat'
Trena - when Graham says trickery... I'd always assumed that the glasses were in fact upside down on a sheet of glass or something with coloured liquid in them & this really is how the setup looked when you shot it, or is he right? |

thanks Graham, pleased to get POTW but there is not trickery in these shots ,they really are upside down, a lot of fun to do but at times pretty messy when I get a bit clumsy...
Gidders, this is straight out of camera, except for a level and crop. just adding my comment back into this thread.
