Never tried mine with zooms, sounds very difficult! I use either with my 50mm or more commonly with my 100mm macro. Have tried it with my 400mm too to shoot damsel flies and such like over a pond with better close focussing.

There shouldn't be any drop off in picture quality as there is no glass in extension tubes.When using a telephoto or zoom lens the reduction in the minimum focus distance comes in handy for butterflies and dragonflies.

Im looking forward to capturing images of bees, with the pollen collection on their legs. Ooooo I can't wait for Summer.
