Default Opinions on this 2.0x telephoto lens

I found this 2.0x telephoto lens for the Fuji HS20 EXR bridge camera on ebay. The price seems extremely low, less than £13.00.
Is something this cheap actually going to be worth the effort?
Must admit I'm sorely tempted but don't really want to go to all the bother of opening a paypal account for a piece of rubbish.
I'd value any opinions.

I haven't used one of those but have played with other cheapie tcs and they have always been poor. Normally with optics the quality goes up as the price goes up, I suspect that you would end up feeling you had wasted the £13!

Default 2x converter

I think you'll find that you get what you pay for! Have you noticed that this item is coming from Hong Kong for £13.00 delivered?
If you Google it you'll find lots of negative reviews and some references to a "Raynox DCR2025 2.2x converter" which is supposed to be good, but not ever having used anything like this, I can't comment on the quality of it.

Thanks guys, your replies reinforce my own initial feeling that it is not going to be that good. Looks like I'm saving up for a Raynox lens then.

I got something similar shortly after my first my DSLR. Even with a 6MP camera cropping produces a significantly better image.
With a bridge camera you are rather restricted in options to improve the zoom range, but most modern bridge cameras have quite a good zoom these days. The down side of which is any flaws in additional optics will be more noticeable. You may be lucky and find something up to the job, but I doubt if it will be under £70. Unless you get the chance to try it first, I wouldn't bother with any without loads of impartial, good reviews.

Not bothered with getting a Raynox, instead upgraded to the HS50. Still staying with bridge cameras as I'm more a birder who takes pictures than a full blown photographer. I'll post some pictures here once the snow accepts that spring is here.
