I don't know where it will end, but I hope that it doesn't. I think that we are only in the first stages of digital imaging, but we will reach the point where a camera will take first-class stills and videos and project both in high resolution. The eye-piece will be electronic and be as large, sharp and bright as a full frame DSLR now is. The point is, the camera will cost no more that a high-end DSLR does now, say £1000 and we will expect no less from a digital camera. Roll on Canon 60D!!!!

Beat me to it Harry, I'd just spotted that as well. There are three new Coolpix in the range and on top of this Epson are bringing out an upgrade to the P5000 card viewer and storage gizmo.

I always knew the person behind the camera would become redundant one day.
I wish someone would develop a camera to automatically do landscapes. I appear to be totally blind taking this kiond of photo.

When will someone other than Leica make a camera that isn't built out of the shoddiest plastic the manufacturers think they can get away with? I want something all metal like the good old days.

Hell, in the future we will have a tiny microchip implanted into our brains that's linked up to our eyes, taking 50 megapixel pictures that we can zoom in on as pleases us. It'll be 3d as well, and we would compose simply by looking at something.

Oh, that's provocative that is! Anyway, I want a camera that will go out by itself and get those early morning sunrises with the mist and everything that I am too lazy to get for myself. The nearest thing so far has been the wife but that is too dangerous and erratic for me!
