Default Oil Depot fire

Just wondered, did anybody get any shots of the oil depot fire, smoke plume etc? Unfortunate though it is, it's a great photo opportunity.

Duncan.

Believe it or not, we had foam from the incident landing in the garden here today.

I feel sorry for any old folk with breathing problems in your area. It must of been hell.

The weather conditions were quite favourable, the smoke stayed high pretty well everywhere... just got a whiff of the smoke on sunday evening.

All the schools in Herts were closed til today... a bit over the top but I think it was initially due to fears of traffic congestion and teachers not being able to get there. The explosion was quite impressive here in N. Watford (though not quite up to IRA bomb at Staples Corner), the pressure wave was like a gale blowing my curtains all over the place.

I only moved out of Hemel a few years ago (having lived there for 25+ years), if I'd still been there I'd certainly have been out with a camera. Yes it's a terrible thing to have happened, but had the potential for some amazing shots...
