Cleaning lenses with recessed rear element

I have several lenses with recessed rear elements and it struck me what happens it the rear element becomes contaminated with dust. How would I clean it?

I am thinking this as I have discovered that long and heavy lenses are best transported detached from any camera body. So I intend to mount any long lens when I am ready to use such equipment.

Stephen, I would probably use my charged sensor brush and then use a blower, I would be frightened of poking around in there in case I disturbed some oil, getting it on the lens element.

LOL - done that with a speak grabber that went dry before I could use it, in my frustration I poked it on the element and left a small square mark! Totally unnoticeable on photos.

As the lens mount is well able to take the weight of the body, then provided there was no extra strain introduced in transporting, lens taking the weight of the body, then I would not have thought there would be a problem. If the conditions were to be dusty and I only intended to use a long lens then I would prefer not to attatch it in those conditions.

My 400 has a velvet type of blackout in the tube, rather than paint, so making it harder to cleanly expell dust with a blower.

Interesting thread all the same just in case I come across a steal on a 500/600 f4 AIS. A/F would require a lottery win.
