Quick HDR in Photoshop
Came across this method on the web - it is so simple and really works. Once you get use to it you can create a High Dynamic Resolution image in minutes.
This can be created from the same Raw file. 1. Open two copies of the same image – one exposed for the highlights and one exposed for the shadows (I prefer using a RAW file) 2. Select all of the highlights exposure (CTR A ) and copy (CTR C) to the clipboard 3. Select the shadows image and paste highlights exposure into it (CTR V) 4. Open the layers menu and add a layer mask 5. Hold down the Alt key and click on the white layer mask 6. Type CTR V and you have a black and white image 7. Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and select a radius of about 40 8. Now just click on the background layer and that is it 9. Flatten the layers and make any of the usual Photoshop adjustments. |

Thanks for this Roy I've just had a quick play and it certainly isn't difficult. These are my first attempt with the first and second images being the originals and the 3rd being the combined effort - all with no other PS editing.
