Quick HDR in Photoshop

Came across this method on the web - it is so simple and really works. Once you get use to it you can create a High Dynamic Resolution image in minutes.
This can be created from the same Raw file.



1. Open two copies of the same image – one exposed for the highlights and one exposed for the shadows (I prefer using a RAW file)

2. Select all of the highlights exposure (CTR A ) and copy (CTR C) to the clipboard

3. Select the shadows image and paste highlights exposure into it (CTR V)

4. Open the layers menu and add a layer mask

5. Hold down the Alt key and click on the white layer mask

6. Type CTR V and you have a black and white image

7. Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and select a radius of about 40

8. Now just click on the background layer and that is it

9. Flatten the layers and make any of the usual Photoshop adjustments.

Thanks for this Roy I've just had a quick play and it certainly isn't difficult. These are my first attempt with the first and second images being the originals and the 3rd being the combined effort - all with no other PS editing.
