Default Nikon EN-EL4a Replacement

Still logging in remotely, but as I'm busy testing kit I thought I would give you folks a heads up on a really useful find.

I decided I needed a backup to my main battery that came with my D3. But as that battery will always cover a full days shooting, I decided I'd get a 'cheap' replacement to take on this holiday with me. That replacement was a Duracell copy.

Now here is the good news - it's a third of the price of the Nikon original AND it lasts much longer!! Tested it over and over again and there is certainly no doubt at all, I get at least a full third more use out of the Duracell.

In another thread someone asked about the D300 grip, well I would highly recommend this Duracell as the battery to keep the upgrade costs down.

Oh and I'm testing lot's of kit -more soon...

Hi Derek - a word of caution about the Duracell replacements. I found them some time ago and bought two. They are supposed to fit the D2H, D2X, D3 and MB-D10 battery pack for the D300 - Mine work in everything apart from the MB-D10 battery pack - neither of them registers in the battery info menu when used with the battery pack.

I just bought some spare batteries from 7dayshop.com They were only £18 each AND the full 2200mah ratings. So many around seem to be around the 1700 - 2000mah, which would probably work, but never show 100% charge on the calibrated meter! (checkout ebay for some real battery rip-offs!)

Not sure who actually makes the 7day shop ones, as they're unbranded, but work fine in D2h camera
